Flying wing

Northrop developed this YB-35 prototype for a 1941 contract seeking a bomber that could carry 10,000 lbs. of ordnance and could fly a 10,000-mile mission (round-trip), should England fall to the Nazis. It first flew in 1943, but a number of challenges meant the flying wing wouldn’t have been ready until 1947 which put an end to this gorgeous airplane.
