In Feb. 2nd’s paper we learned that Maj. Robert B. Williams (pictured on page five) was injured in a Luftwaffe raid on London, making him the first American observer wounded in the German air campaign. He is pictured in today’s paper, as he prepares to hop a flight home aboard a majestic Boeing Clipper. Among the other passengers on the flight are fellow U.S. Army observers Brig. Gen. Carlyle H. Wash1Wash is currently the 5th Bombardment Wing’s Commanding Officer, but in a few days will be named Commanding General of the II Interceptor Command and Maj. Richard Nugent, and the skin of a leopard shot by the Clipper’s captain while hunting in the West African colony Portuguese Guinea (modern-day Guinea-Bissau)…

The 16-inch gun at Fort Duvall featured on page six is one of a few Army M1919 coastal artillery guns. It guards Boston Harbor and can fire a 2,000-lb. round at targets up to 26 miles away. Here is a better version of the picture:
