TO
SERGEANT WILLIAM T. ROGAN

CITATION:

Sergeant William T. Rogan, 34024550, Corps of Military Police, Military Police Platoon, 103d Infantry Division. For heroism in action. During the night of 23 December 1944, in the vicinity of * * * , France, a one and one half ton truck full of ammunition caught fire. With utter disregard for his life, Sergeant Rogan leaped on the truck and courageously assisted in removing the small arms and three inch shells to safety. Oblivious to the exploding ammunition and sweeping flames, he carried away the vitally needed ammunition until the truck was emptied. Unswerved by the danger about him he then braved the searing heat and flames to extinguish the flames. As a result of his magnificent valor, Sergeant Rogan saved the vitally needed truck and ammunition and the lives of the men about him. Residence: Brooklyn, New York.
