The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels flight demonstration team transitioned to the Grumman F11F-1 Tiger (above) midway through the 1957 season and flew this model for the next nine years. The Tiger made faster, higher, and tighter performances possible than the Blues’ previous jet, the Grumman F9F-1 Cougar.
