George Fielding Eliot discusses the Gilbert Islands on page 13… 2nd Lt. Ronald Reagan is pictured alongside Errol Flynn on page 18 in a shot from the movie Desperate Journey (1942). Being too nearsighted for overseas service, Reagan is now serving in the Army Air Force in a motion picture unit. Before the war he was a cavalry trooper. To Reagan’s right is Alan Hale, Sr., the father of Alan Hale Jr. — “Skipper” from Gilligan’s Island. On the far right is Arthur Kennedy, who also serves in the motion picture unit… Sports section begins on page 20
