The Kremlin is at it again: Pravda alleged two weeks ago that England was conducting peace talks with the Germans. Now Izvestia (another state-run paper) says the Pope is pro-fascist… Capt. Leon C. Roberts, whom we discussed last month, is pictured on page five along other Tuskegee Airmen…

George Fielding Eliot column about the Pacific Theater on page six… Sports on page 11, featuring a golf column by Grantland Rice… Lieutenant Tom Harmon is meeting up with his lovely actress friend Elyse Knox in Chicago (story on page 12). The two will be headed north to Ann Arbor, Mich. to meet Harmon’s parents. The two are pictured in tomorrow’s newspaper… On the same page, the Japanese have lost some 550 airplanes at their Rabaul stronghold…

Another Harmon is in the news: Ralph E. Harmon is a chief in the Seabees, and shares stories from his time on Guadalcanal, during which the Japanese bombed his unit 78 times.
